Our representative Everest Expeditions Nepal will meet you at Tribhuvan International Airport on your arrival schedule. You will be greeted and then transferred to the hotel in the heart of Kathmandu city. Our staff will help you until the check-in procedure ends at Hotel. You can either have a rest at the Hotel or visit NGT’s office for gathering additional information about the trip. Today we will spend most of our day sightseeing around some of the world heritage sites of UNESCO inside Kathmandu valley. Most importantly we will complete all the necessary paper works and make other preparations required for Dorje Lakpa Expedition.
Note: It is not possible to visit all world heritage sites in Kathmandu within a day. So you can choose at least 3-4 places for day sightseeing.

6-7 hrs Drive Tea House Lodge
After breakfast, we will take a scenic drive over a zigzag hilly road with good views of Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himalayan Ranges. Our drive passes along the market town of Trisuli and from there, our drive journey continues on a gravel road all the way to Dhunche. After around six to seven hours of long drive journey, we will arrive at Dhunche where there are extensive teahouses and services. There is a National Park Office and the checkpost centre where we must register.

4-5 hrs Trek Lodge
We start our trek from Dhunche on a broad motor road trail up to Thulo Bharkhu. Our trail climbs steeply through dense Oak and Pine forest to reach Barbal. From there, our trek is over an easy undulating trail through the temperate forest with occasional glimpses of Ganesh Himal and Langtang valley. We trek over to the top of a ridge and soon arrive at the Tamang village of Thulo Syabru.

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge
From Thulo Syabru our trek continues by following the trail that drops down to Langtang Khola and then turns east on the true left bank of the Langtang Khola. We continue our trek upstream with minor ups and downs towards Bamboo. We head for the crossing of a suspension bridge before crossing a couple of landslide areas and climb a switchback to reach Rimche. From Rimche our trail climbs a little before dropping down to Lama Hotel for our overnight stay.

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge
After breakfast, we leave Lama Hotel and follow the trail that goes through a dense forest filled with oaks, birch, hemlock and mountain bamboo. During our trek, we will have an opportunity to spot wild monkeys and several species of birds. Our trek continues as we follow the trail that climbs steeply to reach Ghoratabela. There is an army check post at Ghoratabela. After registration, our trek continues passing through the small settlements of Chyamki and Kangtangsa. From there we will make a short and final climb to reach Langtang village.

3-4 hrs Trek Lodge
Today is a rather short day of trekking. From Langtang village, our trailheads for an easy climb through two Bhotia hamlets – Mundu and Sindum with great views of Langtang Lirung, Ganchenpo and Langshisa Ri. Our trek continues on a trail that climbs steeply up through the terminal moraine of Lirung Glacier. From the top, we will make an easy downhill descent to reach the Gompa and many teahouses of Kyangjin Gompa for the overnight stay.

Lodge
Proper acclimatization is very important in higher altitudes to avoid mental and physical sickness. Therefore, today we will take a rest day at Kyangjin Gompa for acclimatization and exploration. For acclimatization, we can make an adventurous hike up to Tsergo-Ri at 4,985 meters from where we can get magnificent views of Langtang Lirung and the surrounding high peaks. After spending some quality time at Tsergo-Ri, we retrace our steps back to Kyangjin Gompa.

5-6 hrs Trek Tented Camp
After spending a full day rest at Kyanjin Gompa, our trail descends steeply for about twenty minutes to cross a suspension bridge over Langtang river. After crossing the bridge we will follow the trail that ascends gradually into alpine vegetation. Our uphill trekking continues with juniper shrubs on both sides of the trail with great views of the glacier and Langtang Lirung. Soon, we will arrive at Yak Kharka where we will camp for our overnight stay.

4-5 hrs Trek Tented Camp
After having breakfast, we get our things together and then follow the trail that climbs steeply into higher altitudes. As we gain altitude we might get very tired, feel dizzy or get exhausted, so it’s better to rest every now and then which helps in restoring energy. After a few hours of tiring climb, we will arrive at a good campsite at 4,950 meters where we will set up our Base Camp. Our Sherpa crew will quickly set up the camps and make necessary preparations for further climbing of Mt Dorje Lakpa.

20 days Tented Camp
We will spend several days making climb preparations with adequate climbing training and proper acclimatization. Fully acclimatized and properly equipped with all the climbing gears, we will follow the guidance and instructions given by our experienced climbing experts and head towards the summit. We will tackle several technical sections and climb towards the summit of Mt Dorje Lakpa. Once at the top we are rewarded with breathtaking views of Langtang Himal Ranges including Langtang Lirung, Pemthang Karpo, Gangchenpo and Shishapangma that rises across the border of Tibet. We will spend some quality time at the summit before descending down following the same route and head back to base camp for our overnight camping.

5-6 hrs Trek Tented Camp
After successfully achieving the summit of Mt Dorje Lakpa with NGT team, we begin our return journey by retracing our steps and following the same trail that heads back to Yak Kharka. A rather easy downhill trekking will lead us back to Yak Kharka for our overnight camping.

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge
From Yak Kharka we continue to retrace our steps by following the same route that descends down to cross a suspension bridge over Langtang river. After crossing the bridge our trail climbs for a while to reach Kyangjin Gompa. From Kyangjin Gompa, a rather easy and pleasant trek will lead us back to Langtang village for our overnight stay.

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge
After having breakfast at Langtang village, we pack our gears and continue to retrace our steps on the main trail that heads back to Ghoratabela. From there, our trail is a rather easy downhill trekking through dense forest areas until we arrive at Lama Hotel for our overnight stay.

6-7 hrs Trek Lodge
The last day of our trek heads from Lama Hotel, as we continue to retrace our steps on the main trail that descends all the way down to Syabrubesi. We will enjoy our trek today with rather easy downhill trekking that passes along several villages and terraced farmlands, through dense forest filled with rhododendron, oak and pine trees. When we arrive at Syabrubesi, we will spend our evening together with the crew members for celebrating the completion of Dorje Lakpa Expedition.

7-8 hrs Drive Hotel/Resort
Today we will take a drive from Syabrubesi and drive back to Kathmandu. After a long drive journey, we will arrive at Kathmandu. You will be transferred to the hotel in Kathmandu. So you can either have rest or take a walk around the busy shopping streets of Thamel. In the evening we will celebrate the successful completion of Dorje Lakpa Expedition and have a final meal together.
