Itinerary
Our representative from Everest Expeditions Nepal will meet you at Tribhuwan International Airport on your arrival schedule. You will then be transferred to the hotel at the heart of Kathmandu city. Our staff will assist you until the check-in procedure ends at the Hotel. You can either have rest at the hotel or visit NGT’s office for collecting information about the trip. In the evening, please join our welcome dinner program organized by Nepal Guide Treks and Expedition.

Today we will spend most of our day sightseeing around some of the world heritage sites of UNESCO inside Kathmandu valley. Most importantly we will complete all the necessary paper works and make other preparations required for Larkya Peak Climbing.
Note: It is not possible to visit all world heritage sites in Kathmandu within a day. So you can choose at least 3-4 places for a day sightseeing.

9-10 hrs Drive Lodge
After having breakfast at the hotel we will take a long and scenic drive from Kathmandu towards Soti Khola. Our drive is over a zigzag hilly road as we head north from the market town of Arughat. Enroute we will have an opportunity to observe beautiful landscapes and daily survival activities of local people while we drive across several small market towns and roadside villages. After about nine to ten hours of driving, we will arrive at Soti Khola – the starting point of the trek.

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge
We start our trek from Soti Khola by crossing a bridge and then climbing over a big rock before descending back to the banks of Buri Gandaki river. We continue our trek passing through dense forest areas, cascading waterfalls and green valleys as we reach Lapu Besi. From there, our trail is both uphill and downhill trekking until we arrive at Maccha Khola. We can enjoy the fantastic view of the North-East side of Ganesh Himal from Maccha Khola.

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge
Leaving Maccha Khola we will follow the trail that is a gradual ascent as we head towards Khorlabesi. From there, our trek passes along several waterfalls and some landslide affected areas to a good washing stop at Tatopani – Natural Hot Springs. Then we will cross a suspension bridge and continue trekking through the dense forest as we reach a small village of Dobhan. From this point, our trail is a mixture of both uphill and downhill trekking until we arrive at Jagat.

6-7 hrs Trek Lodge
Beyond the village of Jagat is the Pangaur River which is crossed using stepping stones and log bridges. From there we climb an easy gradient for about an hour before descending down to the village of Sirdibas. Our trekking continues as we head towards a suspension bridge over the Budi Gandaki river and cross it before making a climb towards the village of Phillim. Our trail from here is along beautiful waterfalls and pine forest as we pass through Ekla Bhatti and Pewa/Pawa. We will continue to trek along a pleasant trail with good views of the narrow gorge cut by Budi Gandaki river as an approach towards the tiny village of Deng. The village is inhabited by Gurungs’ who practice Buddhism.

6-7 hrs Trek Lodge
From Deng, we will trek on a trail that passes through several mani walls and chortens. Our trek goes along the fields of buckwheat, barley, and maize before descending down to cross a suspension bridge. After crossing the bridge we will climb an easy gradient beneath the village of Umbay. From there we will follow an undulating trail that gradually swings back to the river and cross another suspension bridge before climbing towards Ghap. We cross the river once again on a larger bridge and then climb steeply for almost an hour to reach Namrung.

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge
Leaving Namrung our trek passes through the scattered village of Barchham before climbing an easy gradient to reach Lihi. From there we descend down to Hinan river and cross the river as we climb for about two hours to arrive at Lho. Manaslu dominates the skyline at Lho, so we will take some time here to enjoy the scenic mountain panorama around us. Our trail from here descends to Thusang river and then climbs for about an hour to Shya. We will spend our overnight at Shya.

2-3 hrs Trek Lodge
Today is a short and easy day trekking. We will follow the trail that crosses a ridge, enters and then exits from a side canyon. Then we will make an easy gradient and continue to ascend over rocky slopes to finally emerge onto a ridge from where we will see the extensive pastures and fields of Samagaon. We will spend an extra or additional day rest here at Samagaon for exploring the busy village and Gompas of Samagaon.

Lodge
Acclimatization is very essential in higher altitudes to stay away from mental and physical illness. Thus, today we will take a rest day at Samagaon for acclimatization and exploration around the village. A hike up to Pung Gyen Gumba is considered best for acclimatization where we can relax in a grassy kharka near gompa enjoying the best view of Manaslu. Pung Gyen Gumba is located beneath the east face of Mount Manaslu. Otherwise, we can explore the village or pay a visit to other gompas.

After spending a good day exploring around Samagaon, we continue our trekking journey with another day of easy trekking to Samdo. We will follow the broad trail that runs north from the village across grassy Kharka. Crossing the outflow from Birendra Kund we trek towards the summer herding area of Kermo Kharka. We can enjoy an excellent view of Manaslu from here. Our trek continues with further uphill trekking for about an hour before dropping down to a bridge over the river. After crossing the bridge we will climb an easy gradient to emerge at Samdo.

Lodge
Today we will spend our day exploring around Samdo. Samdo is a Tibetan refugee settlement of about 40 houses. Samdo offers some good hikes options that are considered best from acclimatization point of view. We can make a climb up to Lajyung La which goes to Tibet or climbs the slopes to the north of Samdo for enjoying great views of whole Manaslu range.

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge
From Samdo our trail descends to a bridge across the Gyala Khola. After crossing the bridge we start our uphill trekking towards a large pile of mani stones and continue to ascend with great views of Larkya Peak and the north face of Manaslu. After a few hours of trekking, we will arrive at Larkya Pedhi where we make a stop for our overnight stay.

5-6 hrs Trek Tented Camp
From Larkya Phedi we will follow the trail that is gradual uphill trekking. During our trek, we are greeted with magnificent views of Manaslu range and other snow-capped mountains. We continue our trekking until we arrive at Larkya Base Camp. Once we reach the base camp, our Sherpa crew will set up the camps and start making preparations for the further trek to higher camp before the main summit climb of Larkya Peak. We camp as for our overnight stay at the base camp.

4-5 hrs Trek Tented Camp
Leaving the base camp, we continue on our trek by following the trail that is a gradual climb all the way to a good campsite at 5,650 meters. As soon as we arrive at the high camp our Sherpa crew will set up the camps and make final preparations for the summit climb. We will also check our health conditions and climbing gears for the main summit climb of Larkya Peak, the following day.

8-9 hrs Climb & Trek Lodge
As a matter of fact, today is the day we all were waiting for. We start early with the aim to reach the summit before midday as the strong winds afternoon can create obstacles to reach the Larkya Peak summit. Following the guidance and instructions are given by our experienced climbing experts, we will overcome the technical sections and climb to reach the summit. Our tiring climb to the summit is rewarded with magnificent views of Manaslu Himalayan Range, Annapurna Range, Langtang Range, Himalchuli, Boudha Himal, Ganesh Himal, and other fascinating high peaks. We will spend short but quality time at the summit and then descend following the same route retracing our steps back and pass through High Camp and Base Camp. We continue our trek for the crossing of Larkya La Pass at 5,160 meters. From the top of the pass, an easy downhill trekking leads us to a wider valley with large meadows, further trekking will bring us at Bhimtang where we will make our overnight stay.

7-8 hrs Trek Lodge
From Bhimtang we continue our trek by following the trail that goes through ablation valley and then climbs a ridge over the lateral moraines where we will see some prayer flags. We descend through dense pine and rhododendron forest to arrive at the scattered settlement of Kharche. Our trail from here is short uphill trekking and then a gentle downhill trekking to reach the large Gurung village of Tilije. We continue our trek with an easy downhill trekking. After crossing the suspension bridge over the Marsyangdi river, we continue our trekking for a while before arriving at Dharapani.

5-6 hrs Trek Lodge
Leaving Dharapani, our trail is gradual uphill trekking away from the Marsyangdi River. We will arrive at a broad and flat valley before reaching the village of Tal. The village of Tal is situated at the foot of a large waterfall. From there we continue our downhill trekking to reach Chyamje. Our trail from here descends through the forest filled with rhododendron and pine trees as we arrive at Syange.

8-9 hrs Drive Hotel/Resort
After successfully completing the trip – Larkya Peak Climbing, we will take a scenic drive from Syange and drive back to Kathmandu which takes approximately eight to nine hours of driving. The first part of the drive is on a gravel road which can be bumpy. But, once we reach the highway – our drive is a scenic journey that passes along beautiful hilly roads and riverside. Besides, we will have an opportunity to observe the daily survival activities of local people while our drive passes through roadside market towns and villages. You will be transferred to the hotel in Kathmandu.

You would surely like to see as much of Kathmandu as possible. The world heritage sites of UNESCO inside Kathmandu, if not visited on the second day of the trip can be visited on this day. An early start is practical to visit the temples of Kathmandu. Also, walking around the shopping area of Thamel is worth spending quality time at Kathmandu. In the evening, we will celebrate for a successful summit attempt of Larkey Peak and have a final meal together with Everest Expeditions Nepal team.

Larkya Peak Climbing Cost & Itinerary
Larkya Tour starts at Kathmandu – the capital city of Nepal. After spending a full day sightseeing around Kathmandu. We will drive along the scenic highway to arrive at Soti Khola – the starting point of the trek. From Soti Khola, we begin our trek following the trail that passes through several traditional villages of Jagat, Deng, Namrung, Samagaon, and Samdo.
After spending a good acclimatization day, we head towards the base camp and ascend higher to the high camp.
