TRIP FACTS

It is one of the short treks operated in Bhutan. It is one of the popular treks of the land of thunder dragon. Although it is a short trek it reaches a high altitude. The total trekking duration is only six days. No doubt, this trek provides unique experience to the visitors. The trek starts from Paro and concludes at Motithang.

Itinerary :

Day 01:

Arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to hotel.

Day 02:

Full day sightseeing in Katmandu valley. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 03:

Early drive to the airport to take flight to Paro. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 04:

Full day sightseeing in Paro. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 05:

After breakfast, we drive to visit Taktshang monastery. It is about eight kilometers north of Paro. It is believed that Guru Rinpoche had mediated for three months in this monastery. Lunch will be served in a restaurant near the monastery. In the afternoon, we will be busy for the preparation of trek. Over night in a guest house.

Day 06:

We start the trek from National Museum at Paro and go up to Jili Dzong at Damchena. The distance between the two places is only 10 kilometre and takes about 5hrs. to reach Damchena from National Museum. Overnight in the camp.

Day 07:

After having food in the morning, we start today's trek from Jiji Dzong and go uo to Jangchhu Lakha. It is about 10km. and takes about 4hrs. to reach Jiji Dzong. Overnight at Jangchhu Lakha in the camp.

Day 08:

Today, we go to Jimilang Tsho from Jangchu Lakha. The distance between the two places is about 11km. and it takes about four hours to reach Jimilang Tshos.The route follows forest to the foot of a valley and crosses the upper part of the Bemang Rong Chhu. Crossing innumerable ups and downs through the forest and rocks, we reach Jimilang Tsho. Overnight in the camp.

Day 09:

From Jimilang Tsho, we go to Simkotra. The total distance between them is only 11 kilometers which takes about four hours normal walk. While moving towards Simkotra, we go through several ups and downs till Janye Tsho. From Tsho the trail goes up to Simkotra Tsho. Overnight in the camp.

Day 10:

After having food in the camp, we proceed towards Phajoding from Simkotra Tso. If we are lucky, we can view Dochu La and Jhomolhari from this trail during fair weather. The route leads to our camp site above Phajoding through juniper and rhododendron bushes. Overnight in the camp.

Day 11:

Today, our journey goes to Motithang from Phajoding. It is just five kilometers from Phajoding to reach Motithang with a normal work of three hours. Overnight in a teahouse.

Day 12:

The journey starts after breakfast to Dochula from Thimphu. After having snacks at Dochula, we return to Thimphu for Lunch and continue to Paro. Overnight halt in Paro.

Day 13:

After an early breakfast, we go to Paro airport to fly Kathmandu. In the afternoon, we go for shopping. Overnight in a hotel.

Day 14:

Back home destination.
