Itinerary
It’s a panoramic thrill flying into Kathmandu on a clear day. The views of snow-capped mountain peaks sprawling down below you are almost ecstatic, beginning a whole chain of memorable experiences that stay with you for a long, long time. And as your plane hits the tarmac, our waiting support team will meet and greet you at the airport and escort you to your hotel. Welcome drinks will be served and over night at your hotel.
From Kathmandu Valley; Dhap (2900 m) is situated at the distance of 230 km. If journey will start at early 6 am, one can reach Nepal Thok for lunch. It takes around 7-8 hours of bus or jeep ride to reach Dhap. There are 3/4 hotels are available for food and lodging.
After 6-7 hours of trek from Dhap, Gorakhani(2930 m) can be reached. There are 2-3 hotels for food and lodging. Long stone mane can be observed on the trekking route. Gorakhani is known as the settlement of Sherpa & Tamang.
Start trek early in the morning after having breakfast or carrying packed lunch. 6-7 hours of trek will lead to reach Pikey Base Camp which is located at an altitude of 3600m. Small tea houses are available in the route to base camp whereas there are 3 hotels at base camp for food and lodging. During spring season (Mid-March to Mid- May), one will be able to see spectacular displays of rhododendrons.
We get up early in the morning with warm clothes and climb up Pikey Peak (4070m.). it is not necessary to take much with us as we return later to collect our main rucksacks. It is about one hour walking to get to Pikey Peak. You will see the best sunrise and magnificent view of the Himalayas like Dhaulagiri, Everest, Makalu, Kanchenjunga, AmaDamlam, Lhotse, Nupatse, Numbur, Gaurisankhar, Langtang to the far west and others mountains. After this unforgettable view, we come back to Pikey Base camp for breakfast.Taking the morning meal from the camp, 5-6 hours of trek following the route Lamuje- Chading – Manipang through dense forest will lead to reach Taklung. Throughout the trekking, Chauri gai can be easily seen. Small tea houses are available for having lunch in the route to Taklung. Taklung is located at altitude of 3420m. above sea level. Only one hotel is available at Taklung for accommodation so camping trek is highly preferred. Long stone mane can be seen at different places on the route. During the spring season, blossomed rhododendron forest is the major attraction of the trek.
Chaplubhangyang considered as Sherpa village is situated at an elevation of 3150m. above sea level. It can be reached after 6-7 hours of trek from Takllung following Thole Demba. As there are no hotels on the route towards to Chuplubhangyang, pack lunch must be carried after starting trek. There are 4/5 hotels available at Chuplubhangyang for fooding and accommodation during the trek.one can have spectacular view of villages of Solukhumbu and Okhaldunga along with panoramic view of Mt. Gaurishankhar, Numbur along others. Yak and Chauri cattle on our sides can always be seen throughout the trek. When traveling, an ancient gompa at Guangding,also a Bouddha at Chuplubhangyang.
Kathmandu is 168 km far from Khijiphalate, Kathmandu can be reached through 8 hours by Jeep or bus.
