Langtang, Gosainkunda & Helambu trek begin in the ancient city of Kathmandu; from where you will board a bus to Syabrubesi; the starting point of your trek. This is an interesting village on the banks of the Bhote Kosi River. The trail gains elevation as you make your way along the Langtang Khola, first through forests of oak and rhododendron and then bamboo forests on the higher reaches of the trail. Traveling through Langtang (3,430m/11,253ft), you will reach the Langtang valley and the friendly Sherpa village of Kyanjing Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft). In Kyanjing Gompa you will experience the spiritual lifestyle of dedicated Buddhist monks who perform their rituals in a beautiful Monastery dating back to circa 1300 A.D. Early in the morning you will ascend Tserko Ri (5,000m/16,404ft) for a tremendous view of the Langtang Lirung (7,200m/23,622ft) range. A short hike will also be taken to a magnificent glacial moraine (4,300m/14,107ft), which can be climbed depending on the time factor and offers more spectacular views of Langtang Lirung and the foot of one of its major glaciers.
There will also be the opportunity of visiting a traditional cheese factory, where the product is manufactured by hand. Once in Chadan Bari (3,330m/10,925ft), having traveled through Lama Hotel, you can relish magnificent views of the towering snow-covered Ganesh Himal (7,600m/24,934ft) and Langtang -II (7,227m/23,711ft) peaks. If lucky you might be able to spot the shy Red Panda that inhabits the Langtang region. Moving on to Gosainkund, watch the sunrise over a multitude of glistening Lakes of this sacred pilgrimage site. It is believed that Lord Shiva created the holy lake with his trident. After Laurebinayak pass (4,609m/15,121ft) you will also trek through some beautiful rice terraces and a number of splendid Buddhist monasteries around the delightful villages of Tarke Gyang and Sermathang (2,621m/8,599ft), before heading back to Kathmandu.
Day 01: Kathmandu
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, Everest Expeditions Nepal will officially greet and meet you at Airport & transfer you to Hotel Shanker or similar category hotel. You will have leisure time, followed by an evening welcome dinner at a typical Nepalese Restaurant. Overnight in Kathmandu (1,000m/3,280ft).
Day 02: Kathmandu
Half-day guided city tours (tour includes Kathmandu Durbar Square, Syambunath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple – Hindu Temple & Buddha Nath – The biggest Buddha Stupa in ancient Kathmandu). Afternoon pre-trip discussion of the trek. Overnight in Kathmandu (1,000m/3,280ft).
Day 03: Kathmandu-Syabrubesi: 8 hours by bus
You will start early bus journey to Syabrubesi; the starting point of the trek. Behind Trisuli Bazaar the road is tricky because of the grubby road. During the travel you will pass through many small villages on the way will be fascinating you with snippets. Overnight in Syabrubesi (1,440m/4,724ft).
Day 04: Syabrubesi-Lama Hotel: 5-6 hours
Crossing through the suspension bridge and heading precipitously along a stream. The River you are following is mostly the Langtang River. You can enjoy the walk going through oak, rhododendron and bamboo forests. There is also a variety of wildlife in these forests: yellow-throated martens, wild boars, langur monkeys, red pandas and Himalayan black bears. Overnight in Lama Hotel (2,470m/8,104ft).
Day 05: Lama Hotel- Langtang: 5- 6 hours
After having breakfast you will continue your trip to your next destination. You are starting your trip descending towards a steep forest slope to the Langtang River. You cross a bridge and head up with a winding path. The trail descends into a valley to cross a stream and climbs past several water-driven mills and prayer wheels to the large settlement of Langtang .Overnight in Langtang (3,430m/11,253ft).
Day 06: Langtang – Kyanjin Gompa: 4-5 hours
You pass through the tiny village, stone-built houses and climb to a Chorten and passed a huge mani along a gentle path of a hill. The valley relocates to a U-shaped one as you enter into a level of riverbed. Today is short walk; allowing time to acclimatize and explore the surrounding.This place is famous for cheese and curd. Overnight in Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft).
Day 07: Kyanjin Gompa: explore day
Kyanjin Ri (4,800m/15,748ft) and Tserko Ri (5,000m/16,404ft) are the good viewpoints in the area that you can climb. After breakfast visit Tserko Ri (5000m) for a spectacular view of the langtang Lirung, Langtang range, Kinshung, Yansa Tsenji and the foot of the huge living Glacier. Back to a guest house for Lunch having short rest and walk around the Kyanjing valley with a guide. Overnight in Kyanjin Gompa.
Day 08: Kyanjin Gompa- Lama Hotel: 5-6 hours
Today you retract to Lama Hotel. All the way downhill but you will see fantastic views of towering mountain what you have missed on the way up. Take more time and suggested you to walk very slow. Overnight in Lama Hotel (2,470m/8,104ft).
Day 09: Lama Hotel – Thulo Syabru: 5-6 hours
First trail decent to river, cross the river and ascend to Thulo Syabru. You will see the fascinating view of Langtang Himal and more. On the way of your trek, you will pass through pine and Junieerps forests. Overnight in Thulo Syabru(2,230m/ 7,316ft).
Day 10: Thulo Syabru- Shin gomba: 3-5 hours
You take the broad trail climbing up to Dimsa village and the trial continues less steeply, through rhododendron, hemlock and Oak forests to Shin gomba. On the way of your trek, you will see fantastic views of Langtang Himala and langtang valley. Shin gomba is another popular place for Cheese. Overnight in Shin gomba (3,330m/10,925ft).
Day 11: Shin gomba- Gosainkunda: 5-6 hours
The trail ascends smoothly through rhododendron covered point to the top of the rim and through a forested area. The area in-between Shin gomba and Laurebina Yak is a sanctuary for the red panda, an endangered species that the Nepalese call cat bear. You return to the ridge path and climb a wider route through alpine country to arrive at a Gosainkunda. Explore around the Lakes and overnight in Gosainkund (4,460m/14,632ft).
Day 12: Gosainkunda- Gopte: 6-8 hours
Today is a bit challenge day; the trail is climb, rough and crosses moraines. Passing three more small lakes, the trail ascend and cross Laurebina La (4,609m/15,121ft) after the pass, the path down to phedi and you continue to walk up and down through out crossing a rocky hill with pine, rhododendron trees. Overnight in Gopte(3,440m/11,286ft).
Day 13: Gopte- Malemchigaon: 6-7 hours
You slide down through a forested area and climb through a dry river-bed to arrive at a Kharka that is surrounded by rhododendron forest. You climb through the forest to arrive at the village of Thare Pati. Climbing the ridge directly above the village gives you a marvelous view of the Jugal area. Cross the village and enter a forested area, again descending to Melamchi River followed by yet again climbing to the Malemchigaon (2,560m/8,399ft) for overnight.
Day 14: Malemchigaon – Tarke Gyang: 5-7 hours
The day you enter a cultural destination it call Helambu Region, walk up to Tarke Gyang where you can enjoy with Sherpa culture with traditional village and monasteries. The stone houses are close together with narrow alleyways separating them. Overnight in Tarke Gyang(2,590m/8,497ft).
Day 15: Tarke Gyang- Sermathang: 3-5 hours
You will cross a small forests with the view of the beautiful village of Helembu region. The trail makes a sweep around the wide valley end between Parachin and the pretty Sharpa village of Gangyul. The people of this village practice Drukpa Kagyu Buddhism, the same as the national religion of Bhutan. Overnight in Sermathang(2,610m/8,563ft).
Day 16: Sermathang- Melamchi Puul Bazaar -Kathmandu : 3-4 hours; 2 hour bus
Short walk down to Malemchi Puul Bazaar with many Sherpa village and catch transport to Katmandu. Friendship World Treks will host a farewell dinner. Congratulations on the completion of your trek! Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 17: Farewell Friend
We are saying good bye to the mountains as journey in Nepal comes to an end today! There is nothing to do but trade emails with travel companions and organize the photos. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from Everest Expeditions Nepal will take you to the airport. On your way home you’ll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
All accommodations for Langtang, Gosainkunda & Helambu Trek are on twin sharing basis included in the trip cost and are chosen based on standard of hygiene, standard of service and food, location, etc. There are two styles of accommodations during our trekking. You will spend three nights in a 4-star hotel, Hotel Shanker or similar category hotel in Kathmandu, and during your trekking you will spend 13 nights in teahouse/lodge in which there are unheated rooms with wooden beds and foam mattresses. If you are a solo traveler, you will share a room with someone else of same sex of your group. If you prefer a single room, you may indicate your preference and get single rooms on request by paying single supplement USD 250. But, you need to understand that in teahouses/lodges of higher elevation area single room is not always feasible. We guarantee single room in Kathmandu and during trek in lower elevation areas but towards higher elevation single room is may not be always possible, although we try our best to provide you with single room

Autumn (mid Sept to mid Dec) and Spring(March to May) are the best seasons for the Langtang, Gosainkunda and Helambu Trek. The weather is sunny and warm, with outstanding views but the nights are little cold. Winter (Dec, Jan, Feb) is also good for Langtang, Gosainkunda and Helambu Trek although it will be little colder.
