Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve (175 km) lies on the flood plains of the Koshi River. The rectangular - shaped Reserve contained within the east and west embankments of the Koshi Barrage. Therefore, the entire Reserve subjects to seasonal flooding during monsoon. This Reserve gazetted in 1976, and established mainly to preserve the habitats for the last remnant population of wild water buffalo in Nepal. In addition, there are larger ungulates such as gaur, nilgai, hog deer and wild pig, and medium sized predators such as fishing cat, jungle cat, and civets. Itinerary

You can take airways or roadways to reach Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve. Airways take 35 minutes to reach Biratnagar and from Biratnagar, it takes 1 hour 25 minutes drive to reach camp. By roadways, you can drive directly to Camp thorough east-west highway and it takes 8 hours to reach.

On arrival at Koshi Tappu Resort, the hotel staff will welcome you with refreshment drinks and headed towards your room. Taking some rest, our tour guide will give a short briefing on today’s activities and programs.

After having lunch and some rest, you will visit marshland to view beautiful rivers birds preying on fish. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets views from the banks of the Sapta Koshi river.

At Night, after dinner, you will have cultural programs and reserve history slideshow. Overnight at Koshi Tappu Wildlife Resort.

An early morning wakeup call from the resort staff followed with tea/coffee. Having some breakfast, you head towards the banks of the Koshi river for boating. Boating on Sapta Koshi offers remarkable views of the surrounding environment, birds flying, sunbathing crocodiles; if lucky enough you can encounter Gangetic Dolphins too.

For forest exploration, Jeep Safari Tour around grasslands and dense forest is the best for those who want to see the wildlife of this region. During Koshi Jeep Safari Tour, you can meet rare wild water buffalo, reptiles, migratory birds and many more.

At night, you can enjoy fire camping, barbeque, and cultural performances. Overnight at Resort.

Today is the day for watching varieties of local and international birds of this wildlife reserves. Having some tea/coffee in the morning, we start our Birds watching tour that showcases unique pretty looking birds; doing their own things in their natural habitats. Then, you will have some breakfast and then we leave for Kathmandu valley.
