Itinerary

Our drive from Kathmandu takes us 5 hours from the hectic pace of the city, to Bimalnagar. We stop here to unload the camping gear and have lunch. After our break we continue to our first put in point, leaving behind a small crew who will set up camp for us while we raft. The short drive brings us Turture. While the rafts and equipment is organized, your trip leader will give the safety and instruction briefing. After this lesson, its time to hit the water! This 3-hour rafting session concentrates on rafting practice, teamwork and confidence building on class I and II intermittent rapids. Our practice day finishes with a ride back to Bimalnagar where our camp waits for us in the gardens of a local restaurant.

After breakfast a 2.5-hour bus scenic journey through quiet villages takes us over the river above Beshisahar. From here we begin our trek up to Bhulbhule, cross the suspension bridge over the river and then trek down toward our campsite in Khudi. Enjoy your packed lunch under a shady tree whilst enjoying inspiring views of the Lamjung mountain of Annapurna. The trek guides you through local villages and natural forest area for approx 4 hours.  Our camp is right on the edge of the Khudi stream, near a small village. This campsite is a popular rest stop for Annapurna trail trekkers so a good chance to swap stories with fellow adventurers.

The morning trek to Nagdi takes us 2 hours, traversing a somewhat steep section of the Annapurna circuit. This trek parallels the river and provides spectacular views of Manaslu and surrounding mountains. On arrival in Nagdi, we eat lunch on the riverbank, where our porters have already delivered our rafting gear. After lunch we climb aboard for apx 2 hours of continuous challenging rapids – up to Class IV. This action-packed afternoon on the whitewater guides us back to our campsite at Khudi where we recharge with hot popcorn and drinks. The afternoon is free for you to discover this beautiful area or simply relax.

As soon as breakfast is finished and our campsite dismantled, we begin the days rafting. Energy charged day of many rapids including Good Morning and Waterfall would keep you on your toes. We raft for apx 5 hours up to the dam between Beshisahar and Phaliya Sangu, stopping for lunch along the way. At the take out point we take a 30-minute bus ride to Paundi. Our relentless porters carry all our gear down the riverbank to set up camp by the river for the night. This campsite provides excellent mountain views – once again!

With an early start we commence rafting to our final take out point at Turture. For just over 2 hours we enjoy the thrills of Class II and III rapids. After lunch we board the bus for our journey back to Kathmandu, with plenty of time to reflect on the amazing experience of the Marsyangdi.
